Terms & Conditions
Proms and Beyond – Terms & Conditions
Thank you for choosing Proms and Beyond. By placing an order or making a purchase with us, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:
1. Payment of Order
A non-refundable, non-transferable deposit is required at the time of ordering to secure your dress. The remaining balance must be paid on or before your final fitting and collection date. Payment can be made via cash, debit, or credit card.
Monies paid are not refundable or transferable to other orders. Once goods are ordered, you have no rights to a refund or exchange if you simply change your mind (as per the Sale of Goods Act 1979).
No item may leave the premises until it has been paid for in full and all dresses remain the property of Proms and Beyond until paid in full.
2. Refund & Exchange Policy
All sales are final. We operate a strict no-refund, no-exchange policy on all gowns and accessories.
Once an order is placed, there is no option to cancel, refund, or exchange for any reason, including change of mind or event cancellation.
Sale gowns or discounted gowns are sold as seen and are also non-returnable.
3. Sizing and Fit
Dresses are ordered in standard sizes and are not made to measure.
Sizing is based on the largest of bust, waist, and hip measurements agreed with the customer at the time of order.
It is your responsibility to ensure the correct size is selected at the time of purchase. Proms and Beyond cannot be held responsible for any sizing issues resulting from an incorrect size being ordered, weight fluctuations, or any other factors beyond our control.
All sizing advice provided by our team is offered in good faith, based on the information available at the time.
All gowns are of standard length and may require alterations.
4. Alterations
Proms and Beyond does not provide in-house alterations and accepts no responsibility for alterations carried out elsewhere.
We are happy to recommend independent seamstresses, but any work they carry out is a separate agreement between you and them.
We strongly advise booking a seamstress in advance. If needed, we can provide images of your dress to assist in pre-booking.
5. Dress Condition and Liability
Dresses must be inspected before collection and will be freshly steamed where possible.
Once a dress has left the boutique, we cannot accept responsibility for any issues with fit, wear, damage, or alterations.
Due to the delicate nature of evening wear fabrics (e.g., beading, sequins, satin), Proms and Beyond is not liable for damage caused during wear or transport after collection.
6. Delivery & Timelines
Dresses ordered from suppliers may take up to 12 weeks or more to arrive unless otherwise stated.
We provide an estimated arrival date based on supplier timelines, but delays may occur that are beyond our control.
You will be contacted when your dress is ready for collection or fitting.
7. Collection Policy
Once your dress has arrived, it must be collected within two weeks unless prior arrangements have been made.
Final balances must be cleared before collection.
If you’d like to try on your dress before taking it home, a short appointment must be booked in advance.
8. Exclusive Dress Policy
Proms and Beyond operates a “one dress per school” policy to ensure exclusivity.
This policy is based on the information you provide. It is your responsibility to inform us of any changes to your school or event.
While we operate a strict one dress per school policy within our boutique, we cannot guarantee that the same dress will not be purchased elsewhere, such as through another retailer or online. Unfortunately, no retailer can offer complete exclusivity beyond their own store. In the rare event that this does occur, we are unable to offer a refund or exchange, as the purchase was made in accordance with our in-store policy and in good faith.
9. Liability & Force Majeure
Proms and Beyond is not liable for circumstances beyond our control, including supplier delays, acts of nature, transport issues, or damage after collection.
Our liability is limited to any direct loss arising from a proven breach of our obligations under these terms.
10. Statutory Rights
Nothing in these Terms and Conditions affects your statutory rights under UK consumer law.
By placing an order or paying a deposit, you confirm that you have read, understood, and accepted these Terms and Conditions.
